This is not good news for conservatives. I used to be a Romney fan, but thanks to my two best blogger friends Left Coast Rebel and Another Black Conservative, they’ve convinced me that Romney cannot be trusted to articulate a consistent conservative message.
However, anybody in the GOP field of candidates is better than Barack Obama, including Romney.
WMUR
Former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney continues to lead a field of Republican presidential candidates, according to the latest WMUR Granite State Poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center.
Seven hundred seventy-three people were randomly selected for the poll, including 357 likely Republican primary voters and 263 likely Democratic primary voters.
In the latest poll, 35 percent of likely Republican primary voters said they would vote for Romney. Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann climbed into second place after a strong showing in June's New Hampshire debate, with 12 percent of the vote.
Texas Rep. Ron Paul had 7 percent, and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has not announced a presidential bid, also had 7 percent.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who also has not declared, got 4 percent of the vote.
Former Minn. Gov. Tim Pawlenty and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had 3 percent. Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman and businessman Herman Cain had 2 percent. Former Speaker of the House New Gingrich slipped to 1 percent, while former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former Lousiana Gov. Buddy Roemer all were below 1 percent.
