Every once in a while here in Liberal New York City, these so-called Liberals show their true colors.
Instead of shrugging off a guy that dresses up as Hilter at a bar to watch a soccer game, they get upset and react “offended” as usual to freedom of expression.
What happened to all that professed tolerance?
Liberals are tolerant only to the groups they select as deserving it. (Blacks and other people of color, Gays and the rest of the LGBT crowed, illegal immigrants, liberal woman, and Muslims to name a few)
From New York Post:
A Hell's Kitchen bar packed with fans of Argentina watching their team take on Germany in the World Cup were shocked when a man walked in dressed up as one their opponent's biggest fans -- Adolf Hitler.
The faux fuhrer was really a self-styled moviemaker named Steve Staso, who wore a taped-on moustache, a tan Nazi-like outfit and a swastika armband at Café Andalucia on Ninth Avenue.
Staso, 55, gave off stiff-armed Nazi salutes as he happily watched "his" German squad beat Argentina in a blitzkrieg-like 4-0 win.
His Aryan antics left some fans inside the cafe fuming.
"I said, 'Why are you doing this?' and he said it was funny," said Mariela Marcantetti, 27. "I said, 'Is genocide funny? Is history funny?' "
"And he just, like, turned around and went to the other side of the bar. He realized something was wrong."
A friend of attorney and former law professor Steven Spielvogel recalled Staso, of Murray Hill, shouting out "Deutschland!" and "Heil Hitler!" while making Nazi salutes.
Perhaps Staso thought he could find refuge among fans of Argentina, where hundreds of Nazi war criminals escaped after World War II. But he met as much resistance as the real Hitler faced from Gen. Patton.
"I had some choice words for him. I told him to remove it," said the offended Spielvogel, who added that other patrons were annoyed at the antics. "He said, 'It's America. I can do what I want.' I said, 'I am Jewish, and I find it offensive.' "
Later in the day, Staso defiantly defended his decision to dress up like Hitler as just a chance to party like it was 1939.
"You don't tell people in Hell's Kitchen what to do.
The point is to have fun. You can't have fun anymore," said Staso. "I stayed the whole game. I didn't take off the costume on principal. I ordered a beer in German."
Cafe Andalucia's owner, who declined to be identified, admitted it was "a stupid thing" for Staso to do.
But he added: "There's no reason to make a political thing out of what happened. If I'm in business, I can't discriminate against anybody."
The owner was more angry at customers who complained about Staso, and threatened to get "revenge" on them for telling The Post about his stunt.
Customer Joe McKenna said he didn't mind Staso dressing up as history's most hated killer.
"Last week he was Mexican. This week, he's a Nazi. Who he is next week depends on who is in the final," said McKenna, 34.
Staso later returned to the bar, sans Hitler outfit. However, he fashioned another costume that included a box fashioned into a mask that had
"F- - - you" written on it.
